8/10/62: “The delicate docking operation, nosing one spacecraft in orbit into another to take on fuel, is demonstrated with small models by Frank C. Rieman of the the Space Technology Laboratories at Redondo Beach, Calif. Three of the docking stages, to the successful locking together, are shown. Experts are working on problems of spacecraft rendezvous and docking in orbit around the moon, as a way of making a moon landing possible.”
